Talk about keeping your word. Way back in February, popular Irish radio host and columnist, Colin Murray made a bet on Twitter.
He tweeted: “If Northern Ireland qualify for Euro 2016 I’ll run thru Belfast in a green mankini. Without any shame whatsoever.”
Well, what do ya know. In October, the Northern Irish soccer team qualified for Euros 2016 – its first major tournament since 1986.
Murray was on the hook.
Today, he delivered on his promise. Not that anyone wanted to see such a sight.
He and about 20 other friends took to the streets of Belfast in various colored mankinis. They used it as an opportunity to raise money for Frame Football in Northern Ireland, which will bring children with physical disabilities together to play an adapted game that suits their needs.
If you are doing something harmless, no matter how stupid, for a good cause then I’m a supporter. If it involves running then we will be extra interested. We are always up for a good laugh. A few weeks ago, we wrote about Santas in speedos running around the streets of major cities throughout the U.S.
Done! I’d rather be a man of my word in a mankini than a fully dressed bottler! Ha ha! 🙂 pic.twitter.com/qZ0SBVj8im

No idea what a “bottler” is, but I’m guessing it’s not something you want to be.
